Meownitor
A downloadable tool for Windows, macOS, and Linux
**Meownitor** is a tiny pixel-art cat that curls up in the corner of your screen,
tells the time, and actually *watches your machine*. He reads your real system
stats — CPU, RAM, disk, battery, uptime, the busiest process, network — and
comments on them in plain language. He blinks. He has opinions. He tells you to
go to bed at 2 AM.
### What he does
- 🐱 **Reads your real system** — live CPU, memory, disk, battery, uptime,
busiest process and network. Not fake flavor text — actual numbers.
- 😼 **Has a personality** — reacts to your day: coffee in the morning, a nudge
when your disk fills up, "even I think you should sleep" in the small hours.
- ⏰ **A real clock** — glowing 7-segment time, date, 12/24h toggle, and a meow
alarm. Pin him on top and he's a proper desktop widget.
- 🪶 **Featherweight & private** — pure Python standard library + one HTML file.
No dependencies, no telemetry, **fully offline**. Nothing ever leaves your
computer.
### How to run
1. Download and unzip.
2. `./app/run-meownitor.sh` (or `python3 app/meownitor.py`)
3. He opens at `http://127.0.0.1:8348`. For a frameless widget look, open it in a
Chromium browser: `chromium --app=http://127.0.0.1:8348`.
Runs on **Linux** out of the box; works on Windows/macOS with Python 3 installed.
